Yesterday I decided to show up. This post is about buying those statement pieces and working them different ways. The look below is my classy city fashionista look. Gurl, can we talk about these trousers though! I am in love! Tartan is so in trend that women have been working worldwide, so you know I had to get mine. These trousers are amazing, and such a statement, the cut is also flattering, high waisted, which you know I love!

The top I went for is a simple oversized white T. It was a little oversized for me so I finished it off with this fitted and sexy black jacket from Asos. And voila, I was ready to stop traffic.

Girl good luck these are an original love, I saw them and I loved the colour! I had to have them! They were from Zara. But hey- you cant have these, but you can get these, and either will look amazing - Thank you Zara.

Look 2; i turned into a glam casual look by just changing the previous top into a blouse and adding a necklace to give it some style, combined with a leather jacket to still keep it casual. Perfect for a evening dine out.

Sunday Special

So it is a new week and we are feeling good. This sunday Lois and I went to church and it was such an amazing day. It had been a long time since we had been to church and felt like we needed reconnection with our beliefs.

Seriously, after the service we felt brand new and ready to take over the world.

Sometimes we as people can get lost in our own ways, decisions & this world. This week we were reminded that it helps us to remember that despite the challenges that get thrown at us there is a higher power to guide, provide and protect us through our journey.... that is uplifting.

I have been loving this look, it is timeless, recurrent and can be worn in so many different ways.Whether you have a classy, funky, sexy or casual style .. A hat can be worn with anything and can be the finishing touch to your look.

My Monday look; it has been very cold in London and for once I did not mind  as I finally got to wear my statement fur dress piece from Topshop. This dress is so warm, simple and chic. To add a classy look to the dress I decided to wear my hat, whilst my Hot Red wig brightened up the look.

Anil Arjandas Grand Opening, Mayfair with Lilly Ghalichi

The Event

We were excited to go to the opening of Anil Arjandas  London store.
Already popular and successful in Spain and a favourite of celebrities, the London opening of Anil Arjandas was highly anticipated and promised to be an unforgettable event- it did not disappoint.
Set in the heart of London's privileged Mayfair, serenely tucked away just behind Oxford street, lies the store on Davies st.  

Anil Arjandas

Designer Anil Arjandas benefits from a wealth of cultural inspiration and international perspective due to his mixed Indian and Spanish heritage. As a result, each piece is has a unique reference to the beautiful kaleidoscope of South Asian and Mediterranean design.

The Collection

The collections really do have something for everyone, ranging from more classic emerald pieces for the more conservative and spikes for the contemporary. We had the pleasure of talking through the collections with Anils father ( who was dressed impeccably in a custom suit ) he proudly walked us though and explained what makes Anil Jewellery unique. Anil takes care to use black and brown diamonds, favouring them for their classy subtlety that alludes to confident old money luxury.  We love this, as not only are these diamonds beautiful, they are a change from the usual Elizabeth Taylor white diamond. The masterpieces are set in Antique Silver and Rose Gold, again offering a contemporary alternative to the traditional yellow gold.

Our Summary

We loved the collection because it was wearable luxury for the confident woman, who needs pieces that can seamlessly go from dazzling in the day to noticeable at night. In summary the collection is the 21st Century answer to old money glamour. Be sure to check the store out - 20 Davies St, Mayfair, London. As it is just a stones throw from Claridges its the perfect modern day Breakfast At Tiffany's activity- London edition. ;)

Lilly Ghalichi

The event of course was star studded, the jewel of the event being Lilly Ghalichi. In a Ivory gown and radiant as ever she was the perfect addition to such a glamorous event. As well as being the star of reality TV show the Shahs of Sunset, she is also a self made business woman and is the owner of Lilly a retailer of high quality eyelashes. Lilly truly is an inspirational woman for far more than beauty. Her work ethic, style and success makes her an official Women Working it Worldwide love.

Matilda Rangatchew

Infact the event was rich with inspirational women. We got talking to Lillys friend, pictured above( far right) Matilda Rangatchew who had amazing style and an beautiful personality. 

As a Multi lingual translator and personal trainer living in Monaco she is another Women Working it Worldwide love- she is smart, fit, multitasks and looks great doing it! Check out her beautiful accessories below.

I wanted to the classic look for this event, and so I chose the 1940's glamour makeup, reinvented for the 21st century with an ombre lip.  I chose a figure hugging maroon dress from Asos. I completed the look with my favorite coat, in the style of the flattering Dior New Look and perfect for my retro glam direction.

The Hair And Makeup

To complete the ombre lip, I used Rimmel Colour 6 in the middle and Mac Rebel at the edges.Hair wise I wore one of Le Dutches' custom full wigs, for that over the top big hair luxury.

The hair is naturally straight but we gave it lose waves for an effortless modern look.

So a day before this event I was just browsing through Instagram and came accross Lilly Ghalichi's page (who I am proudly following). I read her post about the grand store opening for the very talented Anil Arjandas. I knew there and then, that this was not an event to be missed...

What do I wear?? How to do my hair??? And for God sake my makeup?
Questions questions and questions...
...However-
I decided to keep it simple and sexy, with a touch of class.
A black dress;
You can never go wrong with a back dress that shows a bit of cleavage. It is just perfect for a night out. Complimented with a statement necklace and high stilettos you are Good to Go. However I wanted to be more then simple and sexy so I decided to wear my red wig for that UUh Factor ...

WWIW HARPERS BAZAAR WOMEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS BEST DRESSED

As you know we love women, especially women who are doing their thing successfully, so of course we are going to be commenting on the Harpers Bazaar Women of the Year Awards! For us, this is like Christmas and Carnival all in one- An awesome feel good event with amazing fashion and expression of style to pick over. So without further talk, Let the WWIW Best Dressed Awards Begin. Yay ( So excited

Rita Ora

Ok we have to start off with our style crush ( particularly Le Dutches') Rita Ora.

This girl can pull off so many different looks effortlessly she should be making Gaga nervous.

This particular look is Monroe reinvented for the 2013 ( and who doesn't love a futuristic Monroe).

Ora wears Ermanno Scervino, We love Italian Ermanno for his Italian trait of oozing luxury and opulence. This floor kissing gown is the epitome of glamor, whilst the oversized long sleeves give it the cool laid back look that is just so Rita Ora.  We love it!

Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett always manages to look elegant and regal and this look is no different. What we specifically like about Cate and her style is that this look is not over done. It is simplistically elegant. The easy cut is flattering yet minimal whilst the embellishment on the cuff ensure that the outfit has an edge. Simply luxurious, but that's so Givenchy isn't it?  Givenchy gave it to us as far as embellishments were concerned at these awards. Style is an be an expression of who you are, and admittedly, we don't know Cate personally, but this outfit suggests that she is laid back yet likes things on point. 

Victoria Beckham

This woman knows how to turn up! And this time with her son, reminding us that this standard of perfection is humanly possible. A mother and business woman style queen and designer as well as a brand, Victoria is the poster child of Women Working It Worldwide. Its all about life balance, and looking fabulous whilst juggling many of the (stylish) hats women wear. This picture for us is the epitome of that. 

Olivia Munn

Winner of the cute award is Olivia Munn, in Givenchy. We first came across this beauty on New Girl as Nicks girlfriend, and have been watching her ever since. This look is a little bit more conservative then we are used to from this sex kitten, but none the less lovely, its a dress your mama would be proud of. The necklace colour adds an edge and the sparkly shoes complimenting the embellished pockets make this look just magical. So yeah we are fans.

Natalia Vodianova

Whilst this look is muted monochromatic, we appreciate the play in fabrics of this dress. The result is a minimalist outfit that is tres chic

The Coat

This coat is what I refer to as my bitch coat, it just automatically makes me feel unstoppable. I think its something to do with the shoulder pads ( no wonder 80s women were such feminists). I got it from Zara last year, Zara are famous for their ferocious silhouettes and this cost is the pinnacle of their statement jackets. I believe I got it on sale. For a look like this be sure to keep it locked on Zara.com- they never fail.

The Top

News flash, Dorothy Perkins is not just for your mama, I got this chiffon top recently and was pleased to see it comes in several colours. The perfect outfit filler ;)

The Accessories

I got this chain from Accessorize, and the watch was from some market stall in Portobello ;) I just wanted a statement watch but didn't feel like the statement price-tag of a Michael Kors. Plus everyone has one so I thought I would mix it up.

Make up and Hair

Okay so by now you are probably wondering why one leg is rolled up and one is down..That's just my own little personal style. At times I can be really funky and creative with my clothes and styling... 

It definitely wouldn't work for some but it works for me and I love it.

I also customised my jeans, simply by cutting them with scissors on both sides. I decided to make the cuts but more defined on the right hand side to give it some edge.
